My favorite baking time was and is during the holidays with my family and friends. we get a group of us and get our fav. cookie mixes put together and meet up and ones home and bake many different types of cookies. we listen to xmas music and drink our coffee, tea or whatever we are wanting at the time and nibble on the different cookies we are all baking. We then divide cookies up and take them home for the holidays.

My favorite memories are baking cookies with my Grandmother. When I got “too old” to bake cookies with her, she started a tradition with my kids. She has them over the week before Chirstmas and they make a little of everything, but everyones favorite is and always has been, chocolate chip cookies. I love that she carried on the tradition with my kids, and I still end up getting right in there with them to help.

Making cookies with my three boys is always an adventure. The boys all want to lick spoons, bowls and each other!! A favorite old memory is making cookies with my cousin who I loved dearly but only got to see a few times a year. We were silly preteens who wanted to play a joke on the grownups one year. After lots of giggling-we served up jalapeรฑo laced cookies and were lucky to only get in a little trouble! We still laugh about that day.

Oh my favorite would be learning how to make cookies with my mom when I was in 3rd grade. After that I was good. Amazing. Those were the days when we had to mix up all the ingredients no buying cookies in dairy section. Love them chocolate Chip cookies. Yummmmmmy.

I remember baking with my grandmothers everytime I went to stay with each of them as a child… They were the ones who taught me how to cook since my mother can’t cook…. I remember she tried to make a pineapple upside down cake, and set the kitchen on fire and ever since she was banned from cooking in our house! But now that I’m married, I try to bake/cook something new atleast once a month.. My husband loves it! And next weekend officially kicks off our cooler fall temps and that means it’s back to baking! Nothing says love more than a fresh batch of cookies or our new favorite… Caramel Apple Cupcakes!!!

My favorite memories of cookie baking is when my two older children were young and we did not have much money. We would bake “peaunt butter cookies” because they were so cheap. My kids always made it seem fun. One time we had to go borrow the peanut butter. lol They are now 32 and 30 with two children of their own.

I can remember when I was maybe 8 or so. We were to have our brownie troop divide into groups and walk to the assigned parents home for an afternoon of baking cookies.
My mother had gotten everything ready and was such a great teacher to all who attended our class in our home.
Each of the girl’s were able to take home a large bag of cookies with them at the end of the day. Well the other thing was the fact that when my mother bakes cookies she makes LOT’S of cookies and the are large (tea cup saucer size). She was used to feeding my brothers. I was a bit nervous about everyone coming to my home because we were not the riches family in town. But later on the walk back to the school. All of the girls told me how nice my mother was and that the all had a great time. I will never forget that day.

My most favorite cookie memory is from my Grandmother. Every time I would walk into her house she was baking chocolate chip cookies. She would pull them out of the oven and put them on a plate while they were still hot and gooey for me and my siblings along with a big glass of cold milk, and at that moment in time, nothing else seemed to matter. If she baked a batch that wasn’t perfect then she wouldn’t serve them to anyone. My Grandmother was perfect in every way and so were her cookies!

I think the best memory of cookies for me was when I was little. We walked to school, rain, shine snow whatever but when it was a particularly bad day of weather, my mom had warm cookies for us. I remember even as I was walking home and getting all wet and thinking how unfair it was that we didn’t have a car to get picked up in, my mom made it better by have cookies for us. My favorite was sickerdoodles. The purest simplicity of the cookie dough and the cinnamon sugar all over was the best. I always try to do the same for my children now and hopefully they will do the same for their children. A really good tradition.

    my favorite cookie memory …
it was the christmas of 1992, our mor-mor (moms mom) had just passed away that july and we (my sister and i) had decided to make cookies that christmas. its no secret that my sister is majorly lacking in her cooking abilities but none the less we tackled mor-mors recipe box each picking out a few christmas cookies to make together and than one recipe each that we would tackle on our own.
we had baked for days on end, making our own frosting etc and were honestly quite pleased with our creations. as we sat down during the holidays and enjoyed our homemade treats, it didnt take a brain scientist to figure out which recipe my sister tackled on her own, they were honestly the most horrid things you ever tasted but with the holiday spirit, we kept our mouth shut and you just kinda knew which cookie to avoid. leave it to my husband (soon to be at the time) to bit into a cookie that i made and comment on how good it was (now keep in mind he had no clue who did which ones), he bit into one that we had prepared together and again commented on how good the treat was, and than he took a bite out of one my sister had made and said *this tastes like cardboard* my poor sister was crushed but the rest of us were dying laughing.

My favorite cookie memory- seriously– one is walking in the mall and smelling the sweet aroma of Mrs. Field’s Cookies. I loved that smell. ๐Ÿ™‚
Another was when I was like 12, and my mom was at the hospital having baby #7, and I made cookies for the family- misreading the recipe- and added like 1/2 cup of baking soda or something ridiculous — needless to say they did not turn out and I have sinced learned to make cookies the right way ๐Ÿ™‚ Those are just a few- I have lots of happy cookie memories.

My parents divorced when I was three and my sister was barely a few months old. After the divorce, my mom, my sister, and I moved out to California leaving my dad and his family in Idaho. My sister and I still visited twice a year, but unfortunately twice a year barely cuts it with family.

However, some of my most cherished memories with my grandma on my dad’s side were in the kitchen baking cookies. Every time we visited, my grandma made sure that there was a day set aside to bake, just the three of us. I still love spending time baking cookies; it always reminds me of the times spent in my grandma’s kitchen.

My favorite cookie memory actually happened this past Christmas. I wanted to bake my family some cookies for Christmas and I scowered the internet for a great cookie recipe. I ended up going with an oatmeal raisin cookie recipe that got rave reviews. When that first batch of cookies came out of the oven, the aroma was heavenly. And the first bite was an out of this world experience. They were simply the best cookies I had ever made. I still get requests for them.

The first time I baked cookies alone was when I was about nine. I needed to take some kind of treat to school the next day so I decided on cookies.
I didn’t mix them together myself, they came in a refridgerated log of dough. I even undercooked them. But that didn’t stop everyone in my class from eating the whole plate.

One time in college I wanted to bake cookies. I had the dough, but being a guy with sparse kitchen supplies, I didn’t have a cookie pan, so I used a small skillet, unscrewed the handle and made a giant pizzookie. I am totally clueless about cooking and I forgot to put some spray on the bottom so when it was done, suffice it to say, I had to eat the cookie out of the pan. it wasn’t the nicest looking thing, but it was pretty tasty.

My most favorite cookie memories were when we came home from school off the school bus and could smell cookies mom had baked & would ask for many but only get 2 each because she said it would ruin our dinner.Back in the 60’s my mom only stayed home for a few years until we 3 sisters started high school so those years of her being home when we got home were precious to me, because we got to enjoy her baking, doing projects etc. We never knew what the surprize cookies in the cookie jar would be so we would guess before she would let us reach in to get our 2 cookies each. Money was tight back then but my mom knew how to stretch a dollar & make great desserts & snacks for us to enjoy. Those were the days when you could go next door to borrrow a cup sugar or butter from your neighbor , which we were sent to do from time to time or or neighbors would do the same. I miss my mom so much who died of bone cancer at a too early age, so thank you for this welcome memorie of my long ago childhood. Now I want to go back cookies with my grandson ๐Ÿ™‚

I remember going through this phase where I refused to eat eggs or anything with eggs in it, so my mom would get creative when she was baking and when it came time to add the eggs she would need me to go get her something from another room, every single time! I never figured out until I was older and actually started baking with her that she was doing that to to trick me, so i would eat whatever she was baking! I’ve loved cookies for a LONG time (who hasn’t?!) but my favorite cookie memory is from just over one year ago. I was in Austin, visiting my old college roommate for my birthday. My boyfriend had also flown in from Nashville to spend our birthdays (his is two days before mine) together. My actual birthday was a quite affair. We hung out at Barton Springs all day and then had Indian food – my favorite – for my birthday dinner. We weren’t really sure what to do that night, as we had gone out and “partied” the evening before. So we just went back to my friend’s apartment and watched a movie. Then, there was a knock at the door – which was rather surprising at 10 o’clock at night. I answered it and there was tattooed and pierced UT student with a huge box of cookies and a quart of ice cream. Apparently there’s a place in Austin that delivers fresh-baked cookies and other goodies until 2AM! Well, what can I say – it was magical. Feasting on the birthday surprised my friend and boyfriend had so sneakily set up was marvelous. Much better than birthday cake!

My favorite memoires are baking cookies and bars with both my Grandma’s in the 50’s, old farm recipies. One I love to share with my Girl Scouts at cookie time is a sugar cookie stuffed with mince meat filling or cherrie pie or apple pie filling. Grandma made them for the farm hands and I had them for my school lunchpail. Today’s girls think they’re quite unusual but love them.

My favorite Funny memory was the first time I tried to make chocolate chip cookies in the microwave. This was many years ago when microwaves first cam out. I was winging it with the cooking time. I took out the cookies which looked great only to find out that they were hard as marble and fused to the paper plate that I tried cooking them on. I never tried to microwave them again. I stick with the oven.

Favorite cookie memory is making French cookies every Christmas since I was a little girl. This has been a family tradition passed down by my great-grandmother. The cookies resemble a thin waffle or a thick pizzelli and are made on a Belgian cookie iron. These cookies were made once a year, because the irons were cast iron, laid open like a book, with 2 long handles and you had to cook each side of the cookie on a stove top burner…it was hard work to get through a single batch. Not to mention a single batch of dough required mixing by hand, lest you burned up the motor on your mixer. Much easier today with the electric irons & Kitchen-Aid mixers. ๐Ÿ™‚ Everyone loves these cookies!
