Halloween can sometimes wreak havoc on your wallet once you outfit the family, deck your Halloween halls, and fill the candy bowl for trick-or-treaters. Today, I'm sharing a recipe that is fun, tasty, and perfect for Halloween hand-outs. And at only pennies to produce each one, they will save you a bundle!
Candied Popcorn
Cellophane bags Halloween stickers 30 cups popped popcorn (plain, no butter or salt) 1/2 cup butter 2 cups miniature marshmallows 1-8oz. package Jell-O, any flavor
Directions Spread popped popcorn out on cookie sheets (about three). In a medium saucepan on low heat, melt butter, marshmallows, and Jell-O together, stirring frequently. Bring mixture to a near boil, or until Jell-O is dissolved and no longer grainy. Remove from heat and drizzle over popcorn. Using a spatula or your fingers, mix candy into the popcorn, creating small clusters. Allow to cool and dry.
Once dry, place a handful of candied clusters into cellophane bags. Fold down the tops and secure them closed with a sticker. One batch makes approximately 40 small bags.
