I’ve invited a host of moms, bloggers, bakers, and otherwise interesting people to share their “secret ingredients” for success. I’m thrilled to introduce today’s post from Natalie Broulette, baker, foodie, and creator of The SoHo blog where she serves up slices of life with her warm southern hospitality.
My secret ingredient is dessert. I think dessert should be eaten as often as you like. Growing up, my grandma would serve ham sandwiches and potato chips for lunch, but there were always two homemade desserts ready and waiting. For me, dessert is a reminder to savor life's simple pleasures. During the hectic week, this might just mean taking a breather and indulging in a piece of dark chocolate. On the weekend, it could equate to spending a few hours in the kitchen baking a family favorite or that new brownie recipe you've been wanting to try. At a dinner party, it's the final memory you leave your guests with, the signature you put on the meal. Whatever the dessert, life needs a little extra sweetness and it's always better when shared. If you don’t already, follow Natalie's blog, and Twitter feed for even more inspiration.
