To Do: Plan a Valentine Party

If you want my opinion, there’s is too much fun to be had and too many great ideas to limit Valentine’s Day to only one day! Why not plan a Valentine Party and make the love last a little longer? There’s plenty of time to get invitations out this week, and if you’re short on ideas, I’ve got a few for you.

Girlfriends Party: Valentine’s Day is not just for couples! Gather all your girlfriends and celebrate LOVE! Decorate your place, do a simple potluck, and have everyone share their favorite chick flick movie scenes on YouTube.

Couples Party: Create your own version of The Newlywed Game and quiz your friends. Ask your favorite pizzeria to bake heart-shaped versions of your favorite pies.

Daddy/Daughter Dates: When was the last time you spent time alone with one of your kids? Treat them to dinner at their favorite place and let them know how much they are loved.

Lonesome Hearts Club Party: Find yourself dreading February 14th? Don’t let heartbreak get the better of you this year! Rally with close friends and dress up for a night out at a fun spot you’ve never been before!

Love Letter Party: Invite your friends for over for a night of Guess Who? Scour the Internet gathering famous love letters. Remove the names and see if your friends can figure out the authors and recipients. Supply stationary and a thesaurus and write some love letters of your own! Serve tea and finger sandwiches.

Valentine Costume Party: Why should Halloween have all the costume fun? Invite couples to come dressed as another famous couple and let the hilarity ensue. Serve spaghetti and sauce–red and white and oh-so-simple!

Love Ballad Ball: Invite your friends for a night of serious (or not-so-serious) crooning. A karaoke machine and playlist of popular ballads will be all the entertainment you need! Don’t forget my favorite duet, Endless Love! Serve a sappy meal of breakfast for dinner: pancakes, syrup, eggs and the works!

The possibilities really are endless. Have another idea? Feel free to share it in a comment!

What great party ideas! I’ll be celebrating with my other single friends and just have a night in to relax and watch movies.
