Homemade Candy Bars adapted from Taste of Home

Bottom Chocolate Layer: 1 1/4 cup milk chocolate chips 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter Line a 9 x 13 baking dish with parchment paper. In a double boiler over medium-high heat, melt the chocolate chips and peanut butter together, then spread evenly in the baking dish. Allow to cool and harden completely before adding the next layer. Nougat Layer: 1/4 cup unsalted butter 1 cup sugar 1/4 cup evaporated milk 1 1/2 cups marshmallow fluff 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter 1 teaspoon vanilla 1 cup dry roasted salted peanuts Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add in sugar and milk, stirring until dissolved and bring to a boil. Allow it to simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add in marshmallow fluff, peanut butter and vanilla, stirring until smooth. Turn off heat and fold in peanuts, then spread evenly over bottom chocolate layer. Let cool completely before adding next layer. Caramel Layer: 14 oz. bag of caramels 1/4 cup of heavy whipping cream Add caramels and cream in a double boiler over medium high heat. Melt together, stirring frequently, until smooth and creamy. Spread evenly over the nougat layer and allow to cool and harden before adding the final layer. Top Chocolate Layer: 1 1/4 cups milk chocolate chips 1/4 creamy peanut butter In a double boiler over medium heat, melt peanut butter and chocolate chips together until smooth. Spread evenly on the caramel layer and chill for at least an hour before cutting into pieces. Enjoy!
