Holiday Giveaway: Nominate a Small Business

Thirty-five years ago, Mrs. Fields® began as a (very) small business in Palo Alto, California, and we’ve never forgotten our roots. That’s why we are so excited to bring back our Small Business Holiday Giveaway for the second year. There are so many expenses for small business owners at this time of year, including holiday gifts for employees, clients, and associates. We want to give one of your favorite small businesses a sweet holiday surprise—holiday gifts for free!

We will provide gourmet gifts (valued at $500.00) for your favorite small business’s holiday giving, featuring our delicious gourmet goodies. Pretty snazzy, huh? How do you participate? Leave a comment with your nomination. Tell us the name and location of the business and what it is that makes them so special. Why do they deserve this prize? How are they making a difference in your community?

It is a knitting store in Northbrook, Illinois called Three Bags Full.
All the ladies at the store who work there are willing to help if just to find you the right tool to work with or the all important yarn to work with. The patterns are plentiful. The atmosphere is one of comfort. In times of stress knitting has been my go to for comfort and the owner and the ladies who work for her have all helped me when I have needed their help.

  3. The Book Outlet of the Friends of the Aurora Public Library in Aurora, Colorado. This all volunteer, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization has a mission of providing financial support to the Aurora (CO) Public Libraries. They accomplish this by operating an award-winning used bookstore called The Book Outlet. Celebrating their 25th Anniversary of serving the literacy needs of their community, they are planning their 2nd Annual Customer Appreciation Event later this year. Mrs. Fields Holiday Giveaway would be a welcome gift as part of this special event and would allow the Friends to save their budget and allow them to use it to support their Libraries!

Their staff is amazingly helpful when you need help planning a project and figuring out exactly how to make your piece of jewelry.

I would like to nominate my employer “The Great Outdoors Marine” – they are West Virginia’s only 5 Star Certified boat dealer, and they just received national recognition as one of the “Top 100″ boat dealers nation wide. It is a very small company, and a wonderful place to work – just like family. All customers are treated with great respect, as most of them are also our neighbors.

Krayola Kids Child Care Center, is one amazing place. The staff are extremely friendly and the owner is always there from the doors opening to the doors closing. Every staff is always willing to help anyone out. They teach the children so much and have a blast doing it. They have been in business for 6yrs. I just believe this group of young ladies would definetly enjoy some cookies with their coffee in the morning and with the hearts that these women have they would share with the children also.

    Thank you

I would like to nominate Stumpy’s Simply Sweets. My wife just started this candy buffet business this year. She pours her heart and soul out for each event whether it be a childs birthday party or an elegant wedding event. She does this as a second job for extra income since we gained custody of my youngest child earlier in the year. I know this would help her trimendously in reaching out to potential clients and give her that boost that she really needs. I just want to be able to help her to the best of my ability because thats what she does for each one of us.

  16. I would like to nominate The Whole Pup in Edmonds WA. The people at the Whole Pup really care about the dogs that go to the whole pup for day care or boarding, but they also really care about the people that bring the dogs. Having a dog can be a real juggle with other commitments, and they have gone the extra mile to help make sure that our dog is happy there, which means I do not need to worry about him, and can use my energy for other obligations. When our dog was acting up they could see how stressed I was and came over to give me a hug! They truly care. They also try to help older dogs or homeless dogs find homes by advertising or supporting organizations that care for the dogs…..they are Dog’s Best Friends!

  17. I have been working for the Veterans Assistance Foundation, Inc. (501C3) for over 13 years. I have one of the best staff that I have every had right now. To work with this population of homeless veterans day in and day out with all of their issues and seeing some fall and some successed takes a very strong person and that is what I have in the staff here in Tomah, WI. They all work very hard and are dedicated to see our homeless veteran population achieve their goals and get back on their feet. This would be a great surprise for them as they only are able to get a small sample, once in a while of your delicious cookies with our Quill orders. Thank you for your concideration.

I would like to nominate Bryant Liquor in Overland Park, Kansas. My bosses Chris and Nikol have opened this store as a family business and have made all four of their employees feel like family along with the entire community. They spend hours on end in that store and still seem to make time for their daughter and this is now their sole income and it would be wonderful to see something great happen for them.
Thank you for doing such a great thing for small businesses, it means a lot to someone who is planning on opening a small business of their own.

I would like to nominate the employees of Jim’s Complete Landscaping in Plainville, CT. We own this small business and would love to be able to give our 3 employees & their families something extra for the holidays for all the hard work they provide throughout the year. In the current economy, it has been hard to stay competitive and we have had to eliminate bonuses even though our 3 guys truly deserve something! Mrs. Field’s goodies would be the perfect treat for them and, since they are always hungry, what could be better? Thanks for considering us!

  23. Adam & Kavan this 2 man team has recently opened this facility (www.undergroundstrengthandconditioning.com) To help others get in shape. I feel so blessed to have these wonderful young girls working for me with honesty and loyalty and great working values. They all love cookies and we take turns bringing them to work.
