Although I can never get the recipe quite the same as my mom’s (hers was ALWAYS better), every cookie I bake from scratch reminds me of her. She taught me a lot, and I’ll never forget that.

My favorite cookie memory is when my parents had bought me a easy bake oven for Christmas. Dinner was ready to be eaten and everyone patiently waited for me to finish cooking my cookies in the easy bake oven because they knew how much I had wanted it. I made the entire family wait for Christmas dinner so I could finish making my cookies, they were delicious and I wont ever forget it.

  40. Kayte CookWatts

I have a thing for raw cookie dough. An obsession, one may call it. Once, when I was about seven, I was helping my mom make a double batch of chocolate chip, and the phone rang. It was my grandma, and it ended up being a long conversation for my my mom. She left me “in charge” of putting the cookies on 3 cookie sheets. Well, in the space of about 30 minutes, I ate every last bit of that dough. My mom was not amused.

  41. Lucy

My fave memory actually involves my first day of school. I was so excited about making new friends and my dad picked me up and drove me to Mrs Fields to have a cookie and discuss my day. I’ve now carried on the tradition with my own family!

  42. My most prized memory happened last year. I was making Christmas cookie plates for family members when my then six yr old son came in and wanted to help. I wanted to pass on a recipe that was easy and yet one that had been passed to me so I choose Snowballs. My son was very excited! He helped me make them and even asked for a copy of the recipe of his own to “pass on to his kids one day”. That made my heart so very proud. I had been passed this recipe by a great aunt and now it will continue to live on. However the biggest had yet to come…..The next day my young son came to me with a paper in hand, on this paper was the recipe i had so carefully written for him REwrote in his young 1st grade hand writing . I asked him why he had rewritten it? and his response to was so sweet, in his little voice with a prompt response he said, “because mama… i want to give it to my baby one day too….” *heart sings*

  43. C. LOHRKE

Fave cookie memory ~ annually baking cookies for the holidays, giving as gifts to friends and family.

  44. My favorite cookie memory is of my mom and grandma. When I was young, my mother use to take me and my brothers to my grandmother’s for Christmas baking. They use to make all different sorts of cookies, and other yummy treats. It was a good time! Now that I am older with children of my own and my mother is no longer with us, I fill our dining room table with all kinds of cookies, and other treats. I get to continue the tradition. :-)

  45. My favorite cookie memory is making Christmas cookies with my mom. She worked, so it would always be after dinner, with the Christmas lights from the tree lending ambiance to our endeavor. She taught me how to add food coloring to sugar so that our cookies would sparkle–it was like magic to a young girl! To this day, nothing says “love” to me like receiving a plate of homemade cookies from a loved one.

  46. Kristi McDowell

My mom always baked cookies with us kids, of course she learned it from her mom. I bake cookies every weekend with my kids and now that I have grandchildren, my daughter bakes with them also! A real family tradition… nothing is better than a house filled with loved ones and the smell of fresh baked cookies~!!!

  47. Natalie J Vandenberghe

I have so many “favorite” cookie memories! I’m a Mom of four and probably the first time each of my kids “helped” me make cookies is a favorite memory. The kids love to decorate the sugar cookies I’ve made. My daughter recently made jam thumbprints for me, too. I guess another favorite memory is when I’ve made cookies that my family really enjoyed. This time of year, they are eager for me to make Great Pumpkin cookies.
We love your cookies and are happy to celebrate with you!

  48. Jennifer Causby

My favorite memories are baking cookies with my mom and grandmother. We had to practice and practice because their recipes included many pinches of this and a dash of that and no exact measurements. The best part was always eating the raw dough off of the mixing bowl!

  49. Frank Bragg

Making Christmas cookies with my mom and my sisters, the house would smell so good, now when I smell cookies baking I always think of my family and christmas.

  51. Amber

Me & my big sister always tried to make cookies at least once a week together (Snickerdoodles, especially) after school. We thought we were MASTER chefs!!

  52. Briana Farina

I had a rather random and large urge to bake one day, so I did. Using the Blue Ribbon Chocolate Chip recipe I made 1/3 chocolate chip, 1/3 chocolate chip and added some mini peanut buttercups from Trader Joe’s and 1/3 were just peanut buttercups. My brother, my dad and I devoured them with few glasses of milk while watching a movie.

  53. Sandy Nevels

My favorite cookie memory was baking my first batch of cookies. I love cooking shows and watched them alot as a kid. I then asked my mom to help me make some choc. chip cookies. I did all the cookie making and she got them in and out of the oven. This was when I was 11.

  54. Kathy

  56. My favorite cookie moments was when I was little and we always left Santa cookies on Christmas Eve.

  57. stephaniet

My first memory of cookie love was the very first time I made my own batch of cookies at home. I was probably around 6 or 7, and my mom and I had decided to make a batch from scratch. I had never tasted a warm cookie before, it was like seeing snow for the first time. All of the sudden the cookie wasn’t just a cookie it was a warm, gooey, lovely, chocolatey, experience. My love of cookies started that day.

  58. Meredith

I remember my mom teaching me to make oatmeal butterscotch cookies and putting them in Christmas tins for my friends

My favorite memory is helping my mom bake Hungarian pastries at Christmas. A tradition I am passing on to my son

  63. Shauna Jaecksch

Rolling and cutting Christmas cookies since I was able to sit up at the kitchen table! Mom always saved out a little dough for each of us kids to make a cookie in the shape of a letter, S for Shauna! When they had cooled we began the production line of icing and decorating with sprinkles, red hots, those little silver balls – you name it! YUM YUM and FUN FUN!

  64. Growing up my grandma, aunt and Mom were the ‘cookie bakers’ for the entire family at Christmas – and then some!
Every year starting after Thanksgiving they would all get together each week for an ENTIRE day to bake.. chocolate chip cookies, buckeyes, no bakes, you name it!
After school my Mom would pick us up and we’d go straight to my grandma’s house so they could continue to bake – I would sit with my Grandpa watching t.v. eating Arby’s for dinner, and snacking on cookies..
This was a family tradition I will NEVER forget!

  65. Debbie

Every time we used to go to our local mall, we would make it a tradition to stop at Mrs. Fields and get a cookie. We would always look forward to either eating it there or bringing it home for dessert. They have recently taken away our Mrs. Fields at the mall so we are very sad :(

  66. Carol

I throw a cookie exchange each year. We each bring huge batches of our best recipe (last year there were 7 other ladies, so we each brought 7 dozen) and then we swap recipes and cookies, so we end up with a great variety for our holiday cookie trays. Of course there is lots of gabbing and cookie eating, so much fun!

I love baking for others. My sweetest memory is baking heart shaped peanut butter cookies topped with a Hershey’s kiss for my boyfriend, now husband. He had never had someone bake such a heartfelt & full of love cookie batch for just him!!! He was touched and oh so complimentary.

  72. Ellen

Every year during Christmas, Grammy would pull out her collection of family recipes to find Candy Cane Crisps. It was sheaf of typed papers, stapled together and splattered with years of cookie-baking. She was a terrifying woman, so being a mixing bowl away was the closest my sisters and I came to her all year long. The crisps are a shortbread dotted with crunchy candy cane flakes in the middle, and melted onto the top. Over the years, she was becoming softer, kinder and a little more forgetful. We discovered she had Alzheimer’s. Last Christmas she didn’t know what Candy Cane Crisps were. I pulled out the family recipes, and taught her how to mix and measure, just like she taught me 20 years ago.

  73. clayton wong

My favorite moments is when the whole family gets together to help with the fresh ingredients from start to finish to include putting in the dough in the oven to smelling the fresh aroma of fresh baked cookies to eating it right out of the oven. Yummy!!

  74. Melanie Anderson

Decorating christmas cookies with my aunt every year. Go Beaners!!

  75. diana wong

My favorite moment is when my parents, brother, and I would go to the shopping mall. I would look forward to the food court where lots of great smelling aromas permeate through the air. Most of all, I like the fresh clean smell of recently baked cookies, especially Mrs. Fields, so I would beg my parent to stop and get my brother and I, some fresh tasty cookies from Mrs.
Fields. The dilemma occurs when trying to decide which cookie to get. With the four of us sharing different baked goods, the problem was solved!!!

  76. Michael H

Getting a cookie at Mrs. Field’s when Christmas shopping at the mall with my family!

  77. hanley wong

I remember go by the local bakery and smelling all the fresh exotic and mixed bouquets waffing throughout our walk. I would then plead with my mom to bake fresh cookies or brownies at home or buy some. She saw the different tempting goodies and got ideas from viewing. No sooner than when we got home, she started whipping out the ingredients and baked a batch of chocolate chip cookies, which were reminiscent of Mrs. Fields texture and taste. I was in sweet heaven…!

  78. My favorite cookie memory was when my great grandmother was still alive and we would sit at her kitchen tables and eat cookies together and drink a glass of milk. I loved her so much and I miss those times.

  79. norma webber

We lived out in the countryside and away from the city so my grandma would bake homemade desserts or treats for lots of occasions or just for fun. She would include the whole family in the decision making and selection process of what to bake. More often than not, the winning choice is chocolate chip cookies. The whole house ( we have a small one story brick home) smell great for days and the neighbors seem to appear at the convenient times when the baked
products were ready to eat. Such a great bonding between all walks of life in the good old days where everyone were friendly and respectful of each other

  80. Valerie C.

Every year I would help my mom bake a huge batch of cookies for my dad’s post office. Then I’d go with him to deliver them to the staff :) I miss those days!

  81. Caroline

My favorite cookie memory was as a child baking chocolate chip cookies with my mom. I enjoyed helping her out in the kitchen by mixing all the ingredients, and was so excited for the first batch to come out of the oven that I kept asking her “Are they done yet?”. Ever since then, I have been a cookieholic! Nothing beats a warm chocolate chip cookie with a tall glass of cold milk.

  82. krista grandstaff

My favorite cookie memory isn’t really a memory at all… I was only 3 when my Grandfather passed away.. so I only have the vaguest memories of baking with him. I do however, have all of his tart pans and cookie cutters as well as his rolling pins from the bakery he had when I was small. So…every time I use one of these things, I get to remember him a little bit more :)

  83. Ellen B

baking cookies with my mom for the dessert table for family weddings

  84. Dawn Parker

My favorit cookie memory has to be from when I was a little girl. Every year at Christmas time I would help my grandmother bake. We would make tons of cookies, all differant kinds. Once they were all made we would package them up, for family and friends. Everyone still says those were the best Christmas presents ever.

  85. Taking a week vacation before Christmas and having a cookie baking marathon to make plates for gifts.

  86. When I was 17, this very handsome young man would bring me cookies from San Francisco when he came to San Diego to visit.
They were Mrs. Fields chocolate chip cookies. The year was 1981.

  87. Megan S

My favorite cookie memory actually has to do with Mrs. Field’s cookies. I was at work one day close to Christmas time and 3 huge boxes were delivered to my office, with my name on it. I had not ordered anything for the office recently so I was a little surprised. When I opened the boxes I was beyond thrilled to see 3 huge towers of goodies from Mrs. Fields. They were all cutely decorated in their beautiful Christmas decor. When I looked at the card it just said, “Thank you for always treating us and our clients so kindly”. ( I ran a customer service call center). The best part about this memory was sharing all of those yummy cookies with the other employees in our office. I still have never found out who sent those, but it for sure goes down as my all time favorite cookie memory.

  88. Amanda Lee

  103. What a wonderful giveaway! My favorite cookie memory was baking cookies with my sisters before I moved out out of my parents house. They were young, about 8 and 6 years old. We wore aprons, I taught them how to make cookies and I remember how excited they were to lick the bowls, spoons and eat our delicious cookies when they were done baking! I’d love to win this so I can continue “treating” them! They are such sweet sisters. Thanks for the opportunity.

My fave memory is helping my mom and grandma bake Christmas cookies. 108. When I was a child, my best friend’s mother used to have a cookie exchange at Christmas. We’d go, swap cookies, eat too much, and I got to spend time with my friend. It was so much fun and great to get in the spirit of Christmas!

  109. Melissa

Although I’m the kind of baker that enjoys cookies year round, my favorite memories are associated with holiday baking time. My mom, sister & I used to always get together and make all of our family traditional favorites, but then also had to bring a new recipe to try. Some “made the cut” for future productions, others were never to be tried again, but it was always so fun.

  110. I remember going to the grocery store with my mom :). I always looked forward to it because the baker would give me a free cookie. It wasn’t the same cookie every time so it was something to really look forward to.

  111. Patricia H

When I was younger there used to be a Mrs Fields at our local Mall and a movie theater was right next door. We used to sneak in a Dozen Milk chocolate chip cookies that were still warm. Decorating the cookies was always hilarious because they’d have mounds of colored sugar and sprinkles, and everything else I had in the kitchen, piled on those cookies.

  116. Lisa Grassetti

This is an easy question for me. When I was younger we had an Italian lady that lived across the street from us that made these Italian vanilla cookies that were so good I can still taste them. She made them with a machine and each one came out perfect and thinking now it was the perfect coffee or tea cookie. I have never had a cookie that tasted like those. It’s been many years since that last cookie she gave to my sisters and I and I sure wish I had asked for the recipe. Oh how she used to always give us those cookies at least a couple times a week with a big smile on her face.

When we always baked them we would always end up eating the butter and sugar mixture because it was so good we could never get passed it but once we did I took a spoon full of cookie dough with the chocolate chips in it before baking them. But once they came out we would always share that first warm cookie together!

  123. Suzanne B

My mother just passed away so this will be my first holiday without her. I was thinking about her Christmas sugar cookies. She always made Christmas tree and candy cane sugar cookies. I am going to miss those so much. It is going to be a difficult holiday season that is for sure.

  124. Anna Cheung

My favorite cookie memory was baking different kinds of cookies for the holidays and decorating them with my family and friends. Just seeing them smile from all the work we put into it just made my day.

  125. Karen Glatt

My favorite cookie memory was the last Christmas I had with my mother. She and I always spent time making a various assortment of Christmas cookies every year. My mother’s cookies that I loved the best was her sugar cookies that she made in various colors! The last Christmas I had with her we made our special Christmas cookies, and we brought them to our family get together! Making those cookies were so special to me that Christmas because that was the last Christmas I had with my mother, she died a month after Christmas! Thanks mom for the great cookie memories!

  126. Rebecca Kremis

Making cookies with my grandmother (who has passed) I will never forget those days!

  127. Laura S

Always enjoyed making sugar cookies at Christmas with my mom. She had all these fun holiday cookie cutters and she would have red and green sugar sprinkles. Yum!! I tried to continue the tradition last year with my new baby but it turns out, I’m not so great at making sugar cookies by myself. I’ll need my own mom to help us this year! Lol

  128. Making Christmas cookies with my Great Grandma Daisy before she passed away. I was really young, but I remember her, and how much I loved her :)

  129. Katie

My favorite memory of cookies would have to be getting nibblers with my boyfriend before we went to see a movie. Instead of candy he got 20 nibblers. They were so good and so unexpected. Now, whenever we go to the movies, we always go to Mrs. Fields and buy some nibblers to munch on while we enjoy the movie.

  130. Phoebe B

My favorite Cookie Memory was baking Snickerdoodles (a double batch) for my boyfriend (now fiance) for Valentine’s Day a few years back. I was away at college and took over the kitchen and had my 3 roommates helping me measure, stir, scrape, roll and bake the cookies for an entire night. It was fun for us, and super big surprise for him.

  131. My favorite cookie memory is learning to bake cookies with my mom. This goes way back, before I was in kindergarten, I remember helping mom assemble all of the ingredients on the counter and then standing on a chair so that I could ‘help’ stir the stiff chocolate chip cookie batter. Then, of course, while the cookies baked, I munched on cookie dough and watched Lucille Ball on the television.

  132. Andrea Villamizar

When my husband and I made a HUGE chocolate-chip cookie at home, it was a rainy day and had nothing better to do but watch funny movies and eat cookies! The cookie was amazing!

  133. Jean F

My favorite cookie memory is baking and decorating sugar cookies every Christmas eve. When I was a young girl, my grandmother(who has since past) started this holiday tradition with my older sister and I. Even though my sister and I are both grown, have children of our own, and live on opposite parts of the country, we continue this tradition. Every Christmas Eve, we get together as a family, bake sugar cookies, and remember joys of holidays past !

  134. Sharlotte Akin

My favorite memory was when i was pregnant with my son and i would get cravings for oatmeal cookies. I was placed on bed rest and wasnt able to stand for long periods of time so me baking was out of the question. One day i awakened to the smell of cookies baking in the oven, my husband had taken it upon himself to open my favorite cookie book which is Mrs. Fields and made the oatmeal cookies. Although they didnt turn out quit like they were suppose to they were still the best because his thoughts and intentions were of pure love. Now my son has just turned 2 on Oct. 4th and my husband made his now world famous oatmeal cookies for his son and they are perfection. :)

  135. Tara

When I was little, every Christmas my sisters, mom, and I got together and baked tons and tons of cookies from scratch. All different flavors, shapes, and sizes. We would make enough to send cookie packages to our out of state family, and still have so many left for us to enjoy. :) Oh how I miss those days.

  136. Sophia

When I baked cookies from scratch all by myself. They were not the prettiest, but they tasted good.

  137. Laci Steele

My first memory of making cookies is from when I was 19 years old. My mother-in-law came to visit my husband, our three children (at the time-we now have 7), and me. She was talking about all the different things she and her mother would make for my husband and their church. Somewhere in the middle of it all, she asked what I liked and what things My mom would make for me? When I told here we never had that type of food she talked about and that we could barely afford to keep food for our family—so pinto beans and cornbread with fried potatoes on occasion was our common meal, I guess it bothered her. Later that day, she came in with groceries galore and we mixed, and baked, and mixed and baked in the kitchen all day. I learned how to make so many foods– including my husband’s favorite cookies. It was one of the best days of my life. My kitchen never smelled so good, I learned how to make cookies, and now, it is something beautiful I can pass down to my children. All because their grandma… May she rest in peace!

  138. TuQuyen

My most memorable cookie memory, was when I was going to my 3-hour anthropology class in college, while my boyfriend patiently waited for me outside of class in the hall. Because the class was so long, we were allowed two 5 minutes break after each hour had passed. I used those break times to go out and sit with him for a little. I remember mentioning to him, how I was hungry and he suggested I go buy a snack from the vending machine, but I told him “it’s ok, I’ll just wait until I get home”. Upon my next break, I came out to talk to him again and he surprised me with a bag of Mrs. Fields nibblers. While I was in class, he had thoughtfully driven to a nearby mall and bought me my favorite chocolate chip cookie nibblers. Never have I felt so special. It was just cookies, not even anything expensive, but it was the warmest, tastiest cookies I have ever eaten.

  139. Amy L

My favorite cookie memory is watching my 3 children decorate Christmas cookies when they were little.

  140. Amanda Alvarado

I remember baking Monster cookies with my mom to give out around Christmas. She was a single mom and money was tight so this was a great, inexpensive way to give the special people in our lives something from our family! We still make them just not every Christmas anymore!

  141. Mayce Dennis

My favorite cookie memory is when I made some cookies and brought them to school to share with my friends and they all thought they were so delicious and jokingly accused me of putting addicting drugs in them.

  142. Will

My fondest baking memories are with my mom and nana, who would always let me sneak a few bites of dough. I now love to bake with my wife and kids and have learned that family is truly bound together by tradition.

  143. Shaunee

Getting cookies at the movie theater with my husband. He forgoes the popcorn and prefers a warm chocolate chip cookie!

  144. Lisa M

I remember ‘helping” my mom bake chocolate chip cookies as well as cut out sugar cookies during the colder months. We would bake the cut out cookies well ahead of the holidays and store them in buckets in the freezer. I always looked forward to sneaking a cookie out of the freezer when I arrived home from school!

  145. Brooke

My favorite memory was decorating Halloween sugar cookies with the whole family. We only did it a couple of times but it was fun.

  146. My favorite cookie memory is mixing and baking Christmas cookies with my three children. Each year we would add to our assortment, decorate, package, and share our treasures with friends and family.

  147. Hope Ballard

I have baked cookies from scratch since, I was 10 yrs old. My favorite memories is every year, I made a variety of Christmas cookies from scratch, put them on pretty Christmas paper plates and putting foil on top and colored bows. And delivered them as a young girl to my senior neighbors on my street. They enjoyed them every year and looked forward to them. As much as I enjoyed waiting to make them every year for them. They are no longer with us, but my memories are very sweet.

  148. Wayne Reese

I remember baking ginger snaps w/ my grandmother when I was 8 yrs old. We made a floury mess in her kitchen. The only time I wasn’t yelled @ for making a mess. I miss her snaps & her snap judgements. You ever realize how much someone means to you till they’re gone. May she be suppling all the sweets & treats to all the lil’ Angels this Halloween season…

  149. Gina

My sisters and I always wanted the honor of making cookies each weekend, and we’d always try to top the cookies that had last filled the cookie jar. Oatmeal raisin chocolate chip, peanut butter oatmeal, peanut butter cup,…. We didn’t vary far from our favorite family recipes, but it was always great to figure out what we could add or to see what a sister had done.

  153. Sarah W

My favorite cookie memory is of baking cookies with my daughter when she was quite young. She was always fond of keeping me company in the kitchen and helping out. Making cookies was something that she had so much fun doing since she got to choose the flavors and decorations. I believe that it was that love of baking that years later drew her to culinary school and made her a pastry chef!

  154. Autumn

I can’t resist the uniquely shaped gingerbread people my little ones make at Christmas time.

  155. Malea Penix

Some of my most treasured memories are making Christmas cookies and assorted goodies with my mom and my grandma.
They are both gone now and I hope to make new memories with my grand-daughter. I hope I will make her as happy as my mom and grandma made me!

making 11 dozen chocolate chip cookies for my brothers and sisters when my husband and i went home for a visit

  157. Kathryn Mcneal

My favorite cookie moment was baking with my dad. He and I would usually eat the cookie dough instead of baking it. It’s a tradition I still do even though he’s not alive anymore.

  158. Jenee M. Edwards

I think the best memory while baking cookies is having the interaction of a love one or child so that you two can bond and create a load of heaven when it comes out of the oven. (smile) I help raised my sisters youngest child her name is Brielle and I would have her in the kitchen with me baking chocolate chip cookies and peaut butter cookies and cant forget cupcakes yum yum. I think sweets period is the ultimate temptation so whenever I had a sweet tooth I’d say hey Brielle don’t you wanna bake some cookies lol and how can a child say no to that lol…I miss those days now she’s in 8th grade and has a cell phone now lol now its hard for me to get her back in the kitchen…The best moments are baking with the kids it also teaches them to share fond memories of their own when their older. #Proud Auntie Moment

  159. JILL PRIEBE

My favorite cookie memory is when I was nine years old and it was Christmas time and my Mom and I spent a whole afternoon baking Christmas treats and most of them were cookies and I remember my Mom let me do alot of the work and she made sure I was having fun! I got to decorate the cookies! The smell in the house was so yummy and the time I spent with my Mom was so precious!:)

  160. Marisa Urrutia

One of my many and most recent favorite cookie memory is buying a cookie from the school store for my boyfriend and seeing him so surprised and eating it with such delight, like a little kid!

  161. Brittany Bosley

My best cookie memory, well let me just start off by saying I eat and make cookies religiously, but my best memory, would have to be one day with my best friend, we baked a good batch of cookies, then tried creating one big smiley face cookie with the left overs and a few small ones, and we burnt them… So we went on my balcony, and threw them over and they ended up landing in a ladies garden, faces facing up almost taunting us. The End <3

  162. Birgit Hallin

I remember an “old” lady brought the most beautiful gingerbread cookies to our 4th grade class. They were exquisite and I was in awe at how beautiful someone could make cookies. You didn’t want to eat them but they just looked sooo good.

  163. Katie

We’re going back about 50 years to my Grandma’s buttery sugar cookies. Cut in heart or diamond shapes, covered in powdered sugar. Don’t remember which one had the walnuts in it, either!

  164. Diane Sallans

My Mom used to make at least a dozen different kinds of cookies at Christmas and I would help her – so much fun. And then to get thm all out when company was coming. No one has picked up that tradition yet – maybe I will this Christmas.

  165. Lisa Williams

Coming home from school and finding my mom baking peanut butter cookies, what a wonderful smell !!

  166. Keisha Prince

My best cookie memory is baking cookies in the kitchen with family. There nothing like spending time with family and a nice snack :)

  167. kay p.

When I was young,I loved making cookies with my Mom and sister. One time I accidently put to much salt in them. I was really ambarressed, but they told me that it was ok. That we all make mistakes, and that they werent that bad. They were horrible!

  168. Jennifer

Favorite cookie memory…there are so many.

I think my favorite cookie memory was from a time I was working in the office at a large downtown hospital and one of the physicians brought in homemade Springerle (German holiday recipe) he and his family had made for the holidays for all of us in that department. I was so surprised, I guess, considering the serious nature of his job, that he went home on Friday and spent some weekend time making holiday cookies for us all. :-)

  169. I used to help my mom make cookies and we used to gobble up the first dozen before they were cool (along with my sibs) and then remember we had to put the rest in the oven.

  170. Rhiannon Rowland

The best cookie memory I have is when my mother had a giant cookie decorated and delivered to my school for my birthday. This was back in the 80′s when giant cookies were a brand new and exciting thing. I was the first kid at school to bring that instead of the usual cupcakes. I remember how happy I was and how excited the other kids were as well.

  171. Debra S

I can remember making cookies with my Mom! The first ones, that needed shaping into balls! The next ones I fondly remember were refrigerator cookies! When I could use a knife! I loved those cookies, we would make vanilla/chocolate ones. Then, finally as I was old enough to use the press, the Spritz cookies!
Who doesn’t love cookies????????? Not to mention the dough!

  172. Sandra Wheeler

Cookies bring out the kid in me. Say ” peanut butter cookies”
and you have my full attention. Early memories of warm hugs from my grandmother and the smell of her kitchen are what cookies are all about for me.

  173. Vivi

My favorite cookie memory goes all the way back to kindergarten, when my teacher, Mrs. I, pulled out a toaster oven and had us gather around and watch as she put little pieces of chocolate chip cookie dough on a tray. Nothing else in the room, not a toy or even each other, held our rapt attention as much as those cookies baking in the oven. That, and the glorious scent wafting through the room.

  174. Sarah S

My favorite cookie memory is making chocolate chip cookies with my younger siblings when I was a kid.

  175. Marissa Leonard Smith

My favorite cookie memory is from last year when we were baking holiday cookies and let our son “make” some, too. He was about three months at the time, so we really were just letting him touch the dough, but it was fun to see his face examining everything. We also used the cookies he “made” for some Christmas pictures and, of course, for Santa!

  176. Michelle Howe

My favorite cookie memory is when my mom would make chocolate chip cookies when I was a kid. They were so good!

  177. Lauren

My favorite cookie memory is from 1996. I was 2 days into college and away from home. I had no friends and I had no idea where to go, what to do, etc. A girl who lived across the hall from me in our dorm knocked on my door. Her mom had just sent a big Mrs. Fields cookie cake. She became my very best friend in college, and we shared many many more cookie cakes after that :)

  178. My best memory of cookies is one snowy Christmas Eve my sister Elaine & I baked some cookies and took a tin to our new elderly widowed neighbor. We hadn’t met him yet & we knocked on his door to find that he was home alone on Christmas Eve. We gave him the cookies & he gave us the biggest smile & friendly handshakes which warmed our hearts as we warmed his heart with our gift. He said we made his day! It was the ice breaker to a friendship that lasted for years.

  179. Elizabeth Weiss

My favorite cookie memory is baking cookies while my cockatiel would entertain me with her wonderful whistles.

  180. Samantha Walther

Making daddy daughter double chocolate chip cookies when I went to visit my dad. We didn’t have much time together but making these traditional cookies always made the time feel much longer.

  181. Barrie

Baking cookies with my grandpa. Once he retired he baked…a lot! He passed in 1992 and I still miss him a lot!

  182. Peggy

At Christmas my mom made wonderful pinwheel cookies which were her favorite and became my favorite as well. When I discovered marble cake mix was the secret ingredient I laughed, but I still struggled for years making them, never thinking they were as good as my mom’s – and how can you mess up cake mix? But guess what, they must be ok because pinwheels became my daughter’s favorite cookie as well, the only holiday cookies she requests.

  183. Marilee Smith

My favorite cookie memory is from the lady on the hill. She would pick me up and we would bake cookies for her family She would let me decorate, wrap and tag. I have passed this down to my daughters.

  184. Linda Szymoniak

Baking cookies with my mom and sister when I was a kid.

  185. Theresa

My favorite cookie memory was the first Christmas my daughters were old enough to help make our Christmas cookies. They weren’t the prettiest or the most perfect but to me they were the absolutely perfection. Flour all over their proud smiling faces ~ priceless! They’re 19 and 17 now but when we make our cookies ~ I see them as my little babies that day with flour all over them.

My favorite memory is baking cookies with my sisters for my mother on Mother’s Day. My mother been through so much and just seeing the smile on her face when we gave her the gift was AMAZING !

  190. Karen Propes

My favorite cookie memory was when my mom was baking cookies for a carnival we were having for Muscular Dystrophy, It was a long time ago in the 60′s, and we were helping. Mom had some left over cookie dough and threw some M andM’s in the batch. Everyone loved them, I don’t know which came first or who had the idea first; I know they are popular now. But I was so proud that my Mom’s baked the cookies that no one in our neighborhood had ever had. She was a great Mother and was always baking for our school and church, everyone loved to see her coming with a tin in her hands.

  192. Priscilla Franco

My favorite cookie moments have been with my children. The kids were used to having store bought cookies not baking them at home. The look on their faces was priceless when they saw the baked cookies come out of the oven. How did mommy do that they wondered! The first time we baked cookies together was a blast!

  193. Denise

Baking sugar cookies with the family and all the siblings would get together and decorate with homemade icing. A tradtional holiday event, that is utterly delicious and fun.

  194. Melanie Fernando

My favorite cookie related memory takes me back to my childhood in Sri Lanka. During the holidays my brother and I had seen a movie where children left cookies for Santa Claus, and we decided we had to have them (Cookies were not readily available to us). So we begged my grandma to take us to the shop and she picked out ingredients she thought would result in a good cookie. We mixed them together, and stuck them on the stove top. Sure, it wasn’t your conventional cookie, but to this day those were the best cookies I ever tasted :)

  195. Megan

My favorite cookie memory was simple and classic. My grandma who now lives out of state used to make the best sugar cookies every Christmas, the really thin, sugary, perfect crisp kind. One year she invited me over to join her and I remember rolling the dough out on the board in the sugar and cutting them out. My grandma really helped build my love of baking.

Making cookies at Christmas with my mother, decorated with brightly colored “glitter”, in different classical shapes, ginger bread men, etc. :-) :-9

When I was younger, my mom would always make traditional Tollhouse Chocolate Chip Cookies and I always looked forward to “cleaning” the bowl used to mix the dough. I always thought it odd that there was so much dough left and when I asked her about it years later, she told me she left more in the bowl than usual because she knew I’d like it. And here I thought she was bad with a spatula! lol

  198. Stephanie

I really enjoyed baking cookies with my mom throughout my childhood. Since she never really cooked that much, and I wanted to learn how to make food, we settled on baking cookies. It was the one time that I felt like an adult; being able to turn on the oven, get the dough balled up on the pan, and pressing the timer on the oven always put me in a good mood. Of course, the results were always the best part. I loved seeing the expressions on each individual’s face when they tried my cookies; I felt beyond proud of myself, and excited to make people’s days as bright as mine.

  199. Anthony Baldassari

I made penutbutter cookies from an old recipe I found and
    every one loved them.
