My sweetest memory with my dad is when he tells me and my sister’s stories about when he was in the Army.

My sweetest memory is our first father daughter dance. My dad picked up a corsage for me and we boogied the night away. After the dance we headed out for ice cream and just talked and talked. It will always remain one of the most special evenings in my life, and I can’t wait for my own daughter to have that same experience with her father.

My sweetest memory is of my father and I skipping down the street together, hand in hand, singing “We’re off to see the wizard, the wonderful wizard of Oz!”

  4. One of my fondest memories is Sunday morning rituals. There were 6 of us kids and I was the youngest. Everyone was busy getting themselves ready for church – the oldest girls primping and the boys needing shirts ironed at the last minute. The TV would be playing one of two shows, depending on what time it was – either Jubliee or Hercules. My dad was a very quiet man and never showed a lot of emotion, you know the strong burly type. I tried and tried to buckle my mary janes and couldn’t do it. He came to me, knelt down and helped with my shoes. That memory sticks in my mind and reminds me of his soft heart.

My dad and I would go out fishing in the boat all by ourselves.

I went with my father for a cruise to Alaska. We were on it when I had a birthday and it was just such a nice trip to be able to spend with my father. That was 7 yrs ago- almost 8. My father is 84 now and he has had a few health issues since. Now I go and will drive him to go shopping. Just a few weeks ago we went to the mall and he picked out an outfit that was for my mother. He wanted my opinion about how she would look in it.

My Sweetest memory with my dad is when my dad took my whole family to mexico to do something that our Mom has ALWAYS wanted to do when all of her kids were grown up and that was to renew their wedding vows. Now see my dad is the biggest romantic and he told mom he wanted to take us all to mexico to celebrate their 30 year Wedding Anniversary, but what she didn’t know is that he planned a wedding ceremony and bought her a new diamond ring to give her when they renewed their vows. We all were able to witness their renew there vows after 30 years to each other and that was the greatest blessing that the Lord could give any daughter! My Dad has six girls and he has put up with a lot and he still has the love for my mom like teenage kids!
HE IS TRULY THE BEST DAD IN THE WORLD and I THANK GOD FOR HIM EVERYDAY!

My sweetest memory of my father when I was a child are many, but I think the one that sticks in my mind now that I am older is when me and my father painted the garage together. I was about 6 or 7 and my father was painting the garage and I wanted to help so he got me a little paint brush and let me go at it…lol. I remember while painting the garage someone had spray paint graffii all over the garage and I ask my father who did it and what did it mean, my dad relied, “Oh, its someone who knew I needed to paint the garage and they where just trying to help me”. The reason this memory sticks out for me is because now that I am older, and look back at that neighborhood we grew up in I now it was a rough neighborhood, but my father managed to keep that way from us and keep us protected by doing little things like mantaining the property, keeping people off the grass and not letting folks hang out in front of our house. Now my father even though he is now disable volunteers his time to help others at the local YMCA. I am proud of my father, lol and to this very day he still don’t let anyone walk across, nor cut through his yard, he says, “If the yard looks bad the house looks bad”.

My Parents were seperated when I was young, and on most drives back to my Mom we would pass Carvel. I would start asking when we got on the bridge ….. And usually wear him down by the time we got close to the exit! Ahhh the sweet taste of yummy ice cream will always be in my memories!

  12. Laurie

My sweetest memory with dad is when we would just “hang out.” In high school, my dad really treated me like a friend. We would run errands together, go out to lunch and just hang out together.

My mother and father splilt up before I was born…and so it was a treat to get to see my father because he lived out of state. I remember when I was about 4 years old, my father came to see me for a week…The first night he was there he brought me some white boots (they looked like go go boots kinda) and I sat down in the middle of the floor to try to get them on and of course being 4 and those boots had high tops I couldn’t get them on by myself…so I took those boots and threw them in my room and said “Those stupid boots” my father started laughing and swooped me up and said “I agree, those are stupid boots” and he took me into town and bought me a doll….we went and got ice cream after that and I got to spend the whole week just hanging with my dad…It was great!!!

Helping my Dad put up his Navy MARS radio antennas in the trees so that he could help US service personnel communicate home with their families. It was always fun to climb high into the trees and watch my dad in his radio shack.

  19. Erika Harris

My sweetest memory with my Dad was the first time he held my first born and he cried. My son looked so much like my Dad it was unreal. I will NEVER forget that moment.

  20. teena tricquet

My dad was already in his late 40′s when I was born. I was number 13 of 15 children, but he was the greatest dad ever! I was the baby girl and he would take me with him when he went out to the stores or auto parts place. He would sit me next to him in the car on the front seat when I was about 4 or 5 and sing the songs on the radio to me. He would buy me a soda or a piece of candy and swear me to secrecy so I didn’t tell any of the other kids. My dad was/is my best friend and I love him so much!!

  21. Stephanie V.

When I was a teen crushing on Rick Springfield I wanted to go to his concert more than anything else. Even shed a few tears in pleading mode. My dad thought I had lost my marbles but guess what? He took me and a friend to that concert. He wouldn’t drop us off to be alone so he went as well. Sat with a semi-smile on his face probably because he had ear plugs in. Only one of my sweet memories!

  22. Rick R

My sweetest memories of my dad are the moments that remind me of him when I accomplish something on my own according to his morals, values, and teachings when I was young.

  23. Nicole T.

My mom is my dad. I don’t have a dad, or any father figure in my life. So my sweetest memory my “dad” was when I walked across the stage for graduating High School. She was the happiest, because no one thought I would graduate except for her, so for her to see me achieve my goal it meant the world to her :)

  24. paula skeans

My sweetest memory with dad really my father in law is like my father. He passed away in April and all memories are precious. I guess my favorite is going each yr to the fisout in my area with him and my daughter. Dont know who was the most excited ech fish they caught him or my daughter :)

  25. Melissa Dealmeida

The fondest memory I have with my father is when we went to Deer Forest together when I was five years old. It was an animal park that had these quarter machines that you could buy food for the animals from. We went to the snack bar for Sloppy Joes for lunch…XoXo

  26. Diana Stanhope

My dad is so sweet he is a big burly roofer and my sweetest memory was an everyday occurrence growing up. He would come home and I would run up to see him and he would kiss me gently on the forehead and tell me that once he washed off the days worries he was gonna read to me and he did every single night. As an adult he still does it when I am over, except now he reads me the paper ;) I love you daddy.

  27. megan ortega

One of the sweetest memories I had with my father was when I had broken my arm from falling out of a tree when I was younger. I felt really bad and was in pain too when in my cast. Every day that I was in my cast my dad would bring me either an ice cream or a mrs. fields cookie to make me feel better. He did go out of his way to do it too. It did work. I love my dad very much and he is a truly awesome best dad.

I remember having my dad come to eat lunch with me at school one day while I was in Elementary School. It’s the little things that seem to make all of the difference.

  32. Donald Hayes

On the weekends, we would watch “Wild Kingdom” with Marlin Perkins and “Mid-South Wrestling” with colorful characters like the Million Dollar Man Ted Dibiase, the Iron Sheikh, Junkyard Dog and Rowdy Roddy Piper. We’d jump off the couch and perform wrestling moves with Dad or pretend we were all on an adventure safari with Marlin. Great fun with Dad.

  33. Stephanie Chabot

My sweetest memory with my Dad is dancing with him at my wedding. I felt like I was floating across the dance floor and it was like it was just my dad and me. I cried the entire time. My Dad passed away 4 years ago this June 23rd, I miss him terribly but this is by far my favorite memory of him!!

  34. Cathy Bradford

My sweetest memory with my Dad is when we used to go fishing, I think about him often since his passing. My husband is carrying on the tradition by taking our daughter fishing now.

  35. Elizabeth alvarez

My sweetest memory is of my daddy coming home at 5am from the graveyard shift and staying awake to say goodbye to us as we prepared for school barely keeping his eyes open. Then sending us off with a smile and “I love you” before going to bed and waking up again at 2pm to pick us up from school with the same happy smile, and then only to prepare for work and be out the door at 5pm. It’s nice to see him still have his same loving smile welcoming me whenever I see him. I love my pop!

My Dad coming home early from a hard day of physical work and his three daughters playing 45′s on the record player. He would come in sing and dance with us. The twist or the mash potato. I was the youngest so when a song from the Platters would play I would put my feet on his and he would lead me around to dance. He’s gone since 1976 and I’d give anything to dance with my Dad again.

  39. Brianne Smitko

The sweetest memory I have of my Dad is the first time he held each of my kids, his grandkids. And I can’t wait for him to hold the newest grandchild who was born 5 weeks early just so he could be here for Father’s Day.

  40. Melinda F.

I’m a Daddy’s girl so I have a lot of fun memories with my dad and my grandfather but if I had to pick one. It would have to be Saturday mornings growing up, my dad would make pancakes (it was all i wanted to eat for like a year) and he would make special shapes and sizes. He never cooked only pancakes and sometimes a steak on the grill, but he used to let me flip them when they were ready.

  42. Em Robin

My sweetest memory of my very stoic, business-like dad was when his very precious first child/only daughter (me) gave birth to his first grandchild- a girl (very few females on his side of the family). My parents drove four hours to see us in the hospital and he teared up something fierce at his first sight of my daughter and could hardly hold her because he had to keep blowing his nose. Then he produced a big bag of beautiful little girl dresses and outfits most of which he chose himself. Right now that child is living with my mom and dad while going to law school and he just beams every time he says anything about her.

  43. Pamela W.

Dad used to give Mom, my sis and I the biggest heart-shaped candy box he could find on Valentine’s Day.

  44. shawn young

I remember my dad taking all 5 kids on vacation in a motor home. We all were under the age of 12 and he was a single father. We traveled 1200 mile and saw different states and landmarks. I have to give him credit.. Boy us kids fought a lot

  45. My sweetest memory is of when I used to step on his feet when I was little, and he’d walk while I clung to him because I couldn’t step in the “hot lava.”

  46. lisa bolduc

Going on the 4wheeler at the cottage with my pops!

  47. Antoinette Soto

My sweetest memory of my Dad is when he would meet me half way when walking home from school, it was always a nice surprise. Just to see him smile.

  48. Jeffrey

My Dad drove a tractor trailor at night to deliver paper and on Friday nights I would ride along with him. I was a young teenager at the time and in the 6+ hours we were in the truck together we really bonded. The teen years can be difficult for a kid but my dad always helped put things into perspective and at the same time made me feel special and important. When I was down he knew it and always found a way to lift me up. Those are my sweetest memories of my dad and I’ll never forget them.

  49. marie walker

My sweetest memory with my dad is when he used to take me to work with him on Saturdays when i was about 6 years old. We would always stop and get breakfast on the way. Now that I’m older and have children of my own, the sweetness that he shows my two beautiful daughters is the best!!

  50. Ellen B

Definitely going down the shore (jersey) to go fishing, crabbin, but I would never go out on the boat – I liked to stay on shore. Sometimes my brothers would rent a boat to go out on the bay. I never ate any of that stuff either lol.

  51. Louis

My best memories are going to baseball games with my father at Yankee Stadium and the Polo grounds. My father was very loving and warm, as he taught me about this “new” game of baseball.

  52. Lydia Harpe

I remember when me and my dad lived in Thailand with the rest of my family (for five years) and we walked over a river filled with reptiles (no joke) on a rope bridge…that we discovered later was crawling with red ants. I’m not making any of this up. IT WAS A BLAST!

  53. Becky

My dad taught me how to dance one weekend when my mom was out of town. We moved all the furniture out of the living room and turned the music up real loud and danced all night.

  54. Ang

I have so many Awesome memories with my Dad its hard to pick one Hes an outdoors man anything to do with being outside He was there :) one thing that is in my head while im writing this is He would always set me on his lap and let me drive the mower ,thank god he had nerves of steal cause there were a couple of times were I almost drove it over the back and he took over . 55. Jill e

My sweetest memories of my dad are that he was always there for me. Whenever my car broke down or I needed some extra cash or just when I was upset. He would always come through for me.

  56. laurie

Going for ice cream & going to the park, just dad & me.

  57. Ellen Lew

Fondest memories of my Dad, when he took us back to his country, which was Hong Kong to visit relatives and show us the places he hung out at.

  58. Tia

One is when I received a low grade on a school report and we took a walk and he listened to me then helped me map out a way to better understand the subject.

  59. Cathy Geiger

My most favorite ,Emory with my dad is something that we have done all through my life & that is dancing with him!!! From the time that I was a little girl dancing with him at family gatherings to our father daughter dances in high school ( which my senior year was my favorite because my sister graduated the tear before so I had him all to myself my final year). We would go out to dinner either before or after the dance it was amazing!!! But some of my most favorite dances with him were spontaneous dances at home playing the radio he would grab me up & we would start dancing. The one dance, the most important dance a girl could ever have with her daddy is on her wedding day & that is one dance I never got to have with my dad. Due to health issues my dad has I was not able to dance with him. There are time that my dad will stand up from his wheel chair & if it is for only 10 or 15 seconds I take them & share a dance with my dad!!!

  60. Valerie Carozza

I had the most wonderful and loving father in the whole world. I have cherished memories of him singing to me, reading to me and our many conversations :)

  61. Toby Collins

Sooo many, as he raised my sis and I on his own since we were 16 and 11. It would have to be having donuts for breakfast! Can’t get any sweeter than that! lol He wasn’t too domesticated as he only knew how to work, but he tried…and we didn’t mind the donuts…they were double chocolate…and no, my sis and I DON’T tip the scales! LOL

  62. Karen B

My dad was a man of few words, very few words but the words he did speak will never leave me. He always went out on Sunday Morning to get donuts for us. I remember the day he asked me if I wanted to come. I could not get in that truck fast enough. Did I like being up early on a Sunday morning, no but I did like those Sunday mornings. He always called me sunshine. He said “Good Morning sunshine”. Because I did not want to disappoint him or for to stop calling me sunshine, I always had a smile on my face and in a good mood for the mornings. Something I still do today. I always want to hear the words”Good Morning sunshine” Three best words in the world, and of course, “I Love You Dad”.

  63. Stephanie C

I haven’t spoken to my actual dad in 13 years, but my brother-in-law is more of a father to me.
A favorite memory of me and him would have to be when we would go camping with the rest of the family. We would roast marshmallows and play games by the fire. One time he and my older sister got all of us to put melted marshmallow on our noses by telling us it would help keep the monsters away. And this is one of many memories that I will charish.

  64. Phoenix Carvelli

My sweetest memories of my dad are the ones when he is holding or interacting with my children, especially my daughter. He did give the most marvelous hugs! No matter what was bothering me, I always felt better after one of his hugs. I really miss him.

  65. Mary Withrow

Dad Laughing, He Never Laughs, But When He Does, Everyone Has To, Too!

  66. Nicole Utnick

My greatest memory with my dad was my 6th grade summer. I literally spent everyday outside playing anything from, scooter soccer (we made it up) to tennis, and it was the greatest summer ever! It made me really appreciate my dad, and I grew closer to him with each day that came! I’d relive it any moment!

I love you & Happy Father’s Day dad!

  67. Anna Cheung

My sweetest memories of my dad was when I was little my dad was watching tv and I came over to him with my messy side pony tail. I never put my hair in a ponytail when I was little. I decided to try something new. I sat on my dad’s lap while watching tv with him. He asked me if I did my hair myself. I said yes. He smiled and hugged me. No matter how messy my side ponytail was it always put a smile to my dad’s face.

  68. Kathleen Walsh

One of my sweetest memories with my dad was shopping on Black Fridays! He used to love going with me. He had so much patience. We would get up at the crack of dawn and head on out to the mall. I got great kicks out of him because to him it was like an adventure. Just he and me and tackling the crowds. Black Friday shopping has not been the same since he is no longer with us.

  69. Megan Cromes
