Love them or loathe them, pet costumes are part of the Halloween tradition now. (I personally find them endlessly amusing.) Poor, innocent pets across the country will soon be subjected to their owners’ imagination, sense of humor, and possibly their glue gun. Isn’t it great? Here’s a parade of my favorite ideas. Some of them are homemade, DIY projects and others are from retail outlets. (Click the picture to follow the link to the original.)
As if Chia Pets couldn’t get any more adorable and beloved. (Chia Pets are adorable and beloved, right?) I give you this DIY project, Chia Dog.
If this Jockey costume doesn’t make your doggie want to run for the roses, I don’t know what will. So funny!
Animal Planet has a host of incredible pet costumes, but this Raptor is so fiercely adorable. Makes me want to rrraaawwrrr with laughter.
Speaking of rraaawwrrr, how about his adorable felt Lion’s mane? Use an elastic headband as the template for the mane, and ponytail holders for the wristlets, er, pawlets. Add in folded multicolored felt strips and you’re set.
This adorable hipster dog seems to be saying, “Hey, babe, let’s hop in the Volvo and grab a cappuccino.” Don’t you think? Simple, yet so sophisticated.
I don’t know what to say about this one. It’s wrong, just wrong, on so many levels. But if it’s wrong, I don’t want to be right because I can’t help but giggle every time I look at it.
Sushi, anyone? This DIY idea is killing me with cuteness. Check out the tiny wasabi, ginger, and soy sauce serving. Incredible.
